Amed

We spent a few dreamy days in North Bali, including a stop in the sleepy coastal town of Amed. The imposing Mt Agung provides a stunning backdrop for this small tourist resort, which is spread along a good stretch of hilly, undulating coastline. Probably, the most defining feature of Amed is its many, many colourful fishing boats docked on the shore.

Most people come here for diving, but we enjoyed some quiet time in our small, charming hotel overlooking the sea, enjoying the cool sea breezes and views over Lombok.
